, Training Courses

This one-day course is designed to give the alignment technician an in-depth knowledge of wheel alignment theory.

On completion of the course, the candidate will be able to:

  • Describe principles of camber, caster, toe and thrust angle and the related effects these angles have on tyre wear and vehicle handling.
  • Describe principles of S.A.I / included angle, setback, turning angle and maximum steer angle.
  • Give a detailed diagnosis of potential alignment related problems from equipment printouts.

On successful completion of the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) Professional Development Certificate (PDC) in Wheel Alignment Fundamentals examination, you will receive (via post) the IMI PDC Certificate.

Our Trainer will also deliver an additional practical wheel alignment training session in our workshop on the Hunter Elite TD or PA200.

The BSI approved Advanced Wheel Alignment course is a one-day course suitable for technicians with previous experience of wheel alignment and who require certification on section C.10 of BSI 10125

Candidates are required to have already completed an IMI Fundamentals of Wheel Alignment or similar alignment theory course.

The one-day course will include:

  • A recap of the fundamentals of wheel alignment.
  • A multiple-choice theory test covering Electrically Controlled Suspension, Vehicle Geometry and Four-Wheel Alignment, ADAS Systems, and Working with Electric Vehicles.
  • A practical examination in wheel alignment.

This two-day course is aimed at technicians who have little or no knowledge of the theory of wheel alignment but who need the BSI 10125 accreditation.

Day One will consist of an introduction to wheel alignment theory with a practical demonstration of Hunter wheel alignment. The day will conclude with a multiple-choice theory test.

Day Two will consist of a multiple-choice theory test covering Electrically Controlled Suspension, Vehicle Geometry and Four-Wheel Alignment, ADAS Systems, and Working with Electric Vehicles, and a practical examination in wheel alignment.

Please note that candidates will need to have previous knowledge of Electrically Controlled Suspension, Vehicle Geometry and Four-Wheel Alignment, ADAS Systems, and Working with Electric Vehicles.
