, Training Courses

This one-day course is designed to give the alignment technician an in-depth knowledge of wheel alignment theory.

On completion of the course, the candidate will be able to:

  • Describe principles of camber, caster, toe and thrust angle and the related effects these angles have on tyre wear and vehicle handling.
  • Describe principles of S.A.I / included angle, setback, turning angle and maximum steer angle.
  • Give a detailed diagnosis of potential alignment related problems from equipment printouts.

On successful completion of the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) Professional Development Certificate (PDC) in Wheel Alignment Fundamentals examination, you will receive (via post) the IMI PDC Certificate.

Our Trainer will also deliver an additional practical wheel alignment training session in our workshop on the Hunter Elite TD or PA200.

This two-day course is designed for technicians who have already successfully passed the IMI PDC Wheel Alignment Fundamentals Course.

This course contains both theory and practical sessions that requires delegates full participation. At the end of the two-day course the candidate will be able to:

  • Fully understand and explain all the primary and secondary wheel alignment angles.
  • Able to diagnose problems, from tyre wear to suspension issues, by reviewing the results of a full four wheel alignment.
  • Able to describe the handling of a vehicle by reviewing the results of a full four wheel alignment.
  • Able to communicate alignment theory and findings to others.
  • Demonstrate practical knowledge by carrying out a full four wheel alignment explaining the results obtained.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the basic and advanced measurement options within Hunter Engineering’s WinAlign.
